black students in stem scholarship, Several minority groups in the United States, notably Black and Hispanic workers, are
underrepresented in STEM, which means they make up a lesser proportion of the sector than
    the general population.
Despite accounting for 13.4% of the US population, African-Americans earn only 2% of research
    awards.

Minority populations are disproportionately underrepresented in every STEM sector.
And this trickles down to the education sector, where people of color in STEM are given lesser
opportunities, and lesser aids when compared to their white counterparts.
Hence why scholarships for minority students exist, to balance the scale and give them more of
    a chance.

    What is STEM?

STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) is a booming industry, and the demand for
competent professionals is likely to increase in the coming years.
STEM areas are at the vanguard of some of the most exciting, game-changing developments,
and STEM jobs are increasing faster than those in any other industry.
According to research, a substantial number of minority students drop out of STEM professions
    before completing their degrees.

    STEMK1

This is because many minority students in STEM do not have access to the financial and
academic resources that assist them to complete the degree.
Getting a job in a STEM profession would need specialized schooling, which might be costly.
However, if you are a minority student, seeking financial aid with college finance may be your
    best chance.
Universities, as well as private people and organizations, offer scholarships to minority STEM
    students.
